We recently came across new information regarding the fate of some Slovak Hinds. A small number of these, five to be exact, disappeared from view and many believed they had been delivered to Ukraine, along with a number of former Slovak Air Force Mi-2 and Mi-17 helicopters, in June of 2022.
That does not appear the case however, as the five missing Hind helicopters have been found. They were sold to Robus s.r.o, a Slovak company selling surplus military hardware, and are located in one of the company’s storage lots near Breziny, south of the city of Zvolen.

Details of these five helicopters:
Mi-24D 0215 (cn 340215)
Delivered to Czechoslovakia on 18 June 1982
WFU on 19 November 2009 after 2640 flight hours
Mi-24D 0222 (cn 340222)
Delivered to Czechoslovakia on 2 September 1982
WFU on 23 June 2011 after 2558 flight hours
Mi-24D 0223 (cn 340223)
Delivered to Czechoslovakia on 2 September 1982
WFU on 25 August 2011 after 2538 flight hours
Mi-24D 4009 (cn M4009)
Delivered to Czechoslovakia on 24 August 1978
WFU on 28 June 2006 after 1987 flight hours
Mi-24V 0707 (cn 730707)
Delivered to Czechoslovakia on 21 December 1985
WFU on 10 December 2009 after 2228 flight hours

Further to the above five Mi-24 Hinds, we managed to trace another example. On the 1st of October 2008, when escorting a convoy of trucks carrying Euro currency to be distributed to Slovak banks, Mi-24V 0704 developed an engine problem and made a forced landing next to the D1 Motorway near the town of Povazska Bystrica. The damage sustained was such that the helicopter was written off and transported to homebase Presov by road. In 2011 it relocated to the Centrum Vŷsviku (Military Training Center) in Lešt.
Mi-24V 0704 (cn 730704)
Delivered to Czechoslovakia on 21 December 1985
WFU on 1 October 2008 after 1507 flight hours, currently at the Centrum Vŷsviku (Military Training Center) in Lešt, Central Slovakia.
